Abstract

This study was intended to compare the difficulties of the teachers both graduated from
Department of Primary School Teaching in Education Faculties and the Non-Education Majoring Teachers
on “Early Reading and Writing Instruction”. The study was implemented with 195 primary school teachers
(106 teachers graduated from Department of Primary School Teaching in Education Faculties, 89 NonEducation Majoring Teachers) of elementary school teachers in Bursa. The teachers were given a
questionnaire which developed by the author and asked to write their answers. Answer of teacher is
analyzed by using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. And to find the significance
the differences between groups X2 analysis is used. In conclusion, results have showed that Primary school
teachers both graduated from Department of Primary School Teaching in Education Faculties and the NonEducation Majoring Teachers have some difficulties on “Early Reading and Writing Instruction”. At the
end of the research some suggestions is offered for solution of this problems.
