Abstract

This study covers 22 teachers of Social Studies who teach 7th grade pupils in the central town
of Bingöl province in 2012. This study is based on qualitative research methods. In this study interviewing
method has been used. The interview form has been used for collecting data. This form consists of 8 questions.
Data were analyzed through descriptive analysis method. According to the results, most of the teachers stated
that the performance tasks were not prepared efficiently by students. It was noticed that the performance tasks
had some aspects such as increasing the cooperation and improving socialisation of the pupils. Teachers
indicated that they have faced many problems during the implementation of the these tasks. In-service training
about performance tasks should be given to teachers and necessary information about performance tasks should
be given to students and parents
