Life Study Lesson and Multiple Intelligences: Evaluation of the Student Workbooks in the Second Year

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the workbooks of the life study lesson in the second year of the primary
school in terms of the Multiple Intelligence Theory. The document review method was used as a qualitative research method in
the study. An assessment form which was developed by the researchers and analyzed from the aspects of reliability and validity
has been used as the data collection tool. In the data analysis, descriptive analysis has been utilized. Consequently, it was pointed
out that mostly verbal/linguistic intelligence (29.66%), visual/spatial intelligence (26.72%) and mathematical/logical intelligence
(21.78%) were apparent in the activities of the life study lesson workbooks in second year. It was also seen that none of the
activities involves any task related to existential intelligence
