Investigation of the Relationship between Learning Organization and School Culture according to Perceptions of Teachers

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between learning organization and school culture according to the perceptions of
teachers. The research has been practiced on primary school teachers working in public primary school in Meram district of Konya.
290 teachers, determined through simple random sampling method, from 10 primary schools have formed the participants.The scales
of school culture and learning organization were used as data collection tools. In this relational study, standard deviation, mean,
Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and multilinear regression analysis were used for data analysis. Research results
showed that learning organization dimensions have positive relations with all dimensions of the school culture (cooperative
leadership, teacher cooperation, career development, common purpose, colleague support and common learning).Results of the
regression analysis proved to predict the dimensions of system idea and learning as a team by cooperative leadership, colleague
support, and common purpose dimensions of school culture. In addition, common learning among dimensions of school culture
predicted positively and meaningfully the dimensions of intellectual models and individual authority. Results of the research have
been discussed for development of school culture and existence of schools as learning organizations.
